TalkerApp for therapists
For therapists, above all those who work with AAC. There is a version of TalkerApp made for you: one app, with a separate profile for each person you work with.
The therapist version
Each person you work with gets a profile of their own, so TalkerApp fits them and nobody else.
What each profile keeps
- Their own phrases, including urgent ones
- Their own dictionary: names, places and words that matter to them
- Suggestions that learn from the way they write
- Their own style and personas
How to get it
Write to us and tell us about your work and the system you use. We will reply with the details and send you the therapist version.
hello@gettalker.appNot a medical app
TalkerApp is not a medical app. It is an app for writing and speaking that the person uses themselves, and it does not replace an assessment by a specialist.
Test builds are not signed yet
Signing proves to your system who published an app. Open a test build only if it came from us, at an address we gave you. On a Mac, choose “Open Anyway” under “Privacy & Security” in “System Settings.” On Windows, choose “More info,” then “Run anyway.”
Where TalkerApp fits in AAC
AAC stands for augmentative and alternative communication: every way of communicating that helps when verbal speech is not enough or not there at all, from gestures and picture boards to apps that speak aloud. Its aim is that a person says what they want, to whom they want and when they want.
TalkerApp is text-based AAC. The person types, TalkerApp suggests the next words and whole sentences in Polish or English with the help of AI, and a voice they choose says the sentence aloud.
Who it fits
Adults who know what they want to say, can read and spell, and cannot rely on verbal speech or on fast typing.
When another tool fits better
- The person needs symbols or pictures. TalkerApp is built on words.
- Reading or spelling is hard right now.
Working with the person
You know what the person you work with needs.
Setting it up together
Set up their profile in a session. Add the names, words and phrases that matter to them first, and let them make every choice. Each setting can be changed later.
What to look at
- Access. Key size, hold time and the tremor filter are adjustable. Switch scanning works best with the Large ABC grid (big keys in alphabetical order) and the suggestion strip set to three words instead of five, so there are fewer items to step through.
- Suggestions. Do they match the person’s own words? Check after a few sessions, as the profile learns.
Data
Profiles and what TalkerApp learns stay on the computer. Nothing the person writes leaves it until a cloud service is switched on with your own key. We will write about funding when we have checked it.

Limits
- Computers and phones
- macOS on Apple silicon (M1 or newer) and Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. Not Intel Macs, not Windows on ARM. iOS and Android are planned, with no dates yet.
- Other apps
- The overlay keyboard types wherever it can find the text cursor (the caret).
- Switches and other devices
- The person’s switch has to send a Space or Enter key press. We have not tested eye tracking, head tracking or switch hardware, so we name no device.
