TalkerApp

We know these challenges firsthand

TalkerApp is made by three people who know firsthand how hard communicating and using a computer can be. Each of us uses a computer in a different way and has different needs.

Łukasz
He has cerebral palsy and does not speak; text is his natural medium.
Paweł
He has had spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) since birth and tests apps, websites and spaces from a user’s point of view.
Tomasz
His website shows the world from the point of view of a nonspeaking person who uses AAC.

That is why TalkerApp’s features grow out of our own real needs, not out of guesses, and solve problems that are real.

Three people, three roles

  • Łukasz Czerwiński

    Product & engineering

Łukasz Czerwiński is a developer who runs his own company, OneFinger, and has built web and mobile apps for more than 15 years. He is the long-term technology partner of the US company Skyrocket Radio and designed the one shared foundation behind more than 20 iOS and Android apps for radio stations.

He works with clients in writing and builds accessibility in from the first line, not after an audit.

At TalkerApp he designs and builds the app, from word suggestions to the desktop version.

“Programming gave me more than a profession. It gave me agency.”

    What Łukasz brings to TalkerApp
    • Pace and low effort are his own needs, not guesses: text is how he works and talks.
    • One shared foundation instead of copies: “never write it twice” is his working rule.
    • Years of keeping products running that other people’s work depends on.
  • Paweł Grzegorz Iwaniuk

    Marketing & media

Paweł Grzegorz Iwaniuk is an expert in digital and architectural accessibility, trained as an educator. Since 2020 he has been the accessibility coordinator at the City Office of Biała Podlaska. He also helps companies and institutions meet WCAG and the European Accessibility Act.

He spent 13 years in the media and wrote about technology for outlets including Antyweb, a Polish technology site. Today he co-hosts “Porozmawiajmy,” a podcast about matters that are important to people with disabilities.

At TalkerApp he is responsible for marketing and media relations.

“Above all, though, I am an incorrigible optimist who believes that barriers are there so that we can design smarter workarounds.”

    What Paweł brings to TalkerApp
    • Knows the IT world inside out and can translate programmers’ language into the language of people’s needs.
    • Passes on hard knowledge in an accessible way, in inclusive-design training for business and administration.
    • Finds barriers that automated audits miss, because he tests from his own experience.
  • Tomasz Grabowski

    Testing & AAC community

Tomasz Grabowski has used AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) to communicate for many years, and he is an active leader and advocate for it. He works remotely on digital accessibility at Stowarzyszenie Centrum Usług Dostępnych, a Polish social enterprise. He audits websites for accessibility and builds and administers sites to the WCAG standard.

He runs workshops and speaks at AAC conferences in Poland and abroad.

At TalkerApp he tests the app and brings an AAC user’s point of view.

“Sometimes I am surprised that it is enough to skillfully combine a few elements of this field [AAC] for my words to become a clear, verbal message. That makes me, as a person, an equal partner in the discussion with the rest of society.”

    What Tomasz brings to TalkerApp
    • Uses AAC himself, like the people TalkerApp is made for.
    • Audits websites for accessibility by trade, so his notes are technical as well as firsthand.
    • Knows the AAC community from the inside: a former vice-president of the “Mówić bez Słów” – ISAAC Polska association who has served on advisory councils.

Paweł and Tomasz speak here for themselves. The offices, councils and associations named in their biographies have not reviewed or endorsed TalkerApp.
